Jeanne Roe purchased an already reputable pecan shelling plant in 1999 and has since added her keen taste for what people want to buy, including candies, jellies, coffee, salsas, dips, and seasonings, as well as beautiful arts and crafts (Jim Shore’s Heartwood Creek pieces are essential viewing). Now instead of having to drive to the Jardines store in Buda for salsa or fighting the malls for Lammes candies, Navidad Farms Pecans has become a one-stop shop for the best gifts from Texas.

Navidad Farms’ best feature is the personal attention Roe gives to the store and its customers. Walking in is like stepping back into the early 1900s, with country goods overflowing wooden shelves and fresh coffee in the air. The only modern component in the store is the credit card machine, and Jeanne says she would simply use one of those antique big-button cash registers if she could.

The shop is known for the finest grade of pecans around (they sell only “paper shell” pecans, a larger hybrid pecan with less oil), all available with chocolate, cinnamon, amaretto chocolate, praline, and spicy coatings.
